In my last How To Affiliate Marketing Course post, I went over the four things you need to be a successful affiliate marketer.
In this post, I will go over some simple steps you can take to get started.
Step 1: Choose Your Niche
The first step in Affiliate Marketing is deciding which Niche you want to be in.
A niche is a specialized market segment for a specific type of goods or service. The most profitable niches to get into at the time of this writing are making money online, health, and relationship.
You should perform some niche research before putting your time and attention into building an affiliate marketing campaign. Is the niche well-known? Is there a lot of competition in the niche, or will you be able to make a name for yourself quickly?
I don't know too many people who wouldn't want to make more money or be healthy, so I would focus on these two when you are first starting out.
Step 2: Pick The Products You Want To Promote
In order to find products to promote as an affiliate the first place I would go to is Clickbank. They have products in various niches and affiliates from all over the world use them.
Watch this video to see how to not only pick good products to promote but how to promote them:
The second places I would go to are jvzoo and warriorplus, though these places mainly focus on the make-money-online niche.
Amazon is a great place to affiliate but they have a lot of rules in place before you can become an affiliate.
You can also do a google search for your niche + affiliate to find other places with affiliate programs.
When choosing your product you will want to take the following into consideration:
What is the appearance of the product's sales page?
Would you buy something from the website?
By thoroughly studying the niche and the product, you can select a product that will actually sell.
Step 3: Set Up Your Autoresponder
As I mentioned in my previous post, having your own list is one of the most important aspects to affiliate marketing.
I also mentioned that Get Response is my number 1 choice for an autoresponder. Once you sign up you will find a lot of training in the member's area.
Can't use Get Response? No problem, my second choice can be found by clicking the banner below:
Just follow the instructions in the member's area of your chosen autoresponder to get it set up.
This includes the capture page. Before sending your visitor to the product's sales page, give them something for free in exchange for joining your mailing list. You can make a short report about the subject and give it away on a squeeze page.
By building a list you can establish a long-term relationship with a visitor and provide them with more content and product offers.
If you are going to be using one of the 100% Instant Commission Sites like List Infinity or Automatic Builder, you will not need to set up a capture page as those programs have their own you can promote.
I have really grown to love List Infinity because there is a lot of training there and you can eventually put your list building on autopilot!
Step 4: Set up your email series
You will want to add about 7 emails into your autoresponder before you start collecting email addresses.
With Automatic Builder, this is not necessary as they send out pre-written emails on your behalf.
Here are some places you can find pre-written emails to add to your autoresponder:
If you are promoting products from a marketplace like Clickbank, JVZoo or Warriorplus, you can usually find pre-written emails on the affiliate pages of whatever product you are promoting.
Step 5: Promote your capture page
I have already given you a few examples of how to get traffic in my last post.
They were sharing your site on social media, Forum marketing, and following this free report.
Here are a few more ways to get traffic to your capture page:
Start a Blog
Smart affiliates understand that sales of numerous products in the same niche generate long-term revenue. Starting a specialized blog is one of the most effective ways to sell several things. Your site can link to a variety of affiliate items, allowing you to earn money in a variety of ways.
Here is an example:
You realize after some investigation that solar energy is a hot (excuse the pun) topic. You develop a blog about solar energy that you can do yourself. You can post articles on solar energy on the site and link to the various solar energy items offered on Clickbank. You can also build your list by giving away a "5 Tips to Smart Solar Energy" report on your site.
The absolute best place that I have come across that teaches you how to build a blog and make money for it, has to be Wealthy Affiliate. They have step-by-step courses and everything else you need to get started building a blog and making money from it.
However, if you just want to start a free blog, then you can use Blogger as long as you don't break any of their rules. There are also other places to get a free blog which you can find here.
Comment On Other People's Blog
Most blogs have a comment section where you can leave a comment, some allow you to leave a link to your favorite website.
Make a youtube video
You can create a youtube video on all sorts of things and have a link to your site in the description. Just make sure it abides by youtube's rules.
